Security forces arrested two active insurgent cadres in separate counter-insurgency operations conducted in Manipur’s Imphal East district on June 16. The arrested individuals belonged to different insurgent groups, namely KCP (MFL) and SOREPA. Two Insurgent Cadres Arrested in Imphal East

Security forces carried out two separate operations in Manipur’s Imphal East district and arrested two active insurgent cadres on June 16.

KCP (MFL) Cadre Apprehended

In the first operation, security personnel arrested Heikrujam Hitler Meitei alias Rishi (18). He belongs to the KCP (MFL) insurgent outfit.

The team apprehended him from Kongba Laishram Leikai in Imphal East district. He is a resident of Ningthoukhong Kha Leikai, Ward No. 6, in Bishnupur district.

SOREPA Cadre Arrested in Separate Operation

Later on the same day, security forces arrested Loukrakpam Ibungo Meitei alias John (42), an active cadre of SOREPA.

The operation took place at Kongpal Iranpham Thongkhong in Imphal East district. The arrested individual is a resident of Irom Meijrao Maning Leikai in Imphal West district.

Officials stated that security agencies continue to conduct intelligence-based operations across Manipur. These actions aim to prevent insurgent activities and strengthen public safety.

Furthermore, authorities have launched further investigations into both cases. Legal procedures will continue as per established rules.
