Focus on Better Rural Services

Speaking at the event, Sangma highlighted the state government’s efforts to modernise block offices across Meghalaya.

According to the Chief Minister, modern administrative facilities can improve the delivery of government services. Moreover, better infrastructure can make it easier for rural residents to access welfare schemes and government programmes.

The government aims to bring administrative services closer to people. Therefore, strengthening C&RD block offices remains an important part of its rural development strategy.

Sangma also highlighted the scale of development work currently underway in Ri-Bhoi district.

₹4.50 Crore Approved for Mawhati Block Office

During the programme, Sangma announced that the government had approved ₹4.50 crore for constructing a new block office for the Mawhati C&RD Block.

The proposed facility will strengthen administrative services in the area. It will also support the government’s objective of providing every block in Ri-Bhoi with a proper office.

The initiative aims to improve service delivery and ensure that residents can access government programmes more efficiently.

Development Push for Jirang and Ri-Bhoi

Sangma thanked the people of Jirang for their continued support. He said the new block office and other development initiatives reflect the aspirations of local communities.

The government is focusing on administrative infrastructure as part of its wider rural development efforts. In addition, new block offices can help officials coordinate development schemes and respond more effectively to local needs.
