Meanwhile, the East Khasi Hills district administration has declared a No-Drone Zone within a three-kilometre radius of JN Stadium.
The restriction will remain in force from October 2 to October 5. District Magistrate Abhilash Baranwal issued the order under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
The administration introduced the restriction because several VIPs and dignitaries will attend the programme.
President’s Police Colour Ceremony
A major part of Shah’s visit will be the presentation of the President’s Police Colour to Meghalaya Police.
The award recognises the force’s service and professional record. Meghalaya Police received approval for the honour from the Ministry of Home Affairs earlier this year.
Shah will present the ceremonial flag at JN Sports Stadium in Polo on October 5. A parade involving different wings of Meghalaya Police will also form part of the programme.
