Detailed Report

Indian Oil Corporation Limited has reassured consumers in Mizoram that LPG supply remains steady despite geopolitical tensions affecting global fuel logistics. The announcement aims to prevent panic buying and ensure smooth distribution across the state.

During a press conference in Aizawl, IOCL sales manager Diganta Chaudhury highlighted that the corporation continues to prioritise domestic needs. He stated that supply chains remain under close monitoring, which helps maintain uninterrupted LPG delivery.

Currently, IOCL serves nearly 2.97 lakh households in Mizoram. Moreover, the company delivers around 8,000 cylinders daily, matching pre-crisis supply levels. This consistency has helped maintain stability in the market.

In addition, IOCL has increased commercial LPG allocation to about 70 percent of earlier levels. This step supports hotels, restaurants, and small businesses that depend on LPG for daily operations.

To improve efficiency, officials have encouraged consumers to adopt digital booking methods. Customers can use SMS and IVRS services, which already handle around 25,000 refill requests. As a result, these platforms reduce delays and streamline the refill process.

Furthermore, IOCL has introduced Delivery Authentication Codes (DAC OTP). This system ensures that cylinders reach genuine customers and prevents misuse during delivery.

Meanwhile, the corporation has intensified enforcement measures. Authorities have conducted multiple raids across Mizoram and taken strict action against distributors involved in malpractice. These steps aim to maintain transparency and protect consumer interests.

Overall, IOCL has emphasized that there is no shortage of LPG in the state. Therefore, officials have urged consumers to avoid panic booking and rely on regular supply mechanisms.
