Ranking System Highlights Child-Centred Growth

The ranking system used by MSCPCR evaluates schools on several key factors. These include child safety, classroom environment, teacher-student relationships, health support, inclusiveness and grievance mechanisms.
Officials explained that the MSCPCR honours top schools programme was designed to reward institutions that go beyond academics. Schools must demonstrate leadership, compassion and accountability to earn a place in the rankings.

The system also encourages transparency. Schools receive detailed feedback on areas where improvement is needed. This helps them create action plans and perform better in future evaluations. According to MSCPCR, the goal is not competition but collective growth.

Many schools said the ranking process pushed them to adopt more child-friendly policies. Teachers also expressed that the initiative helped them understand students’ needs through a rights-based lens.

Commitment to Safe and Supportive Learning Environments

During the ceremony, MSCPCR representatives emphasised how essential safe environments are for children. They said that a school’s responsibility extends beyond academics. Children must feel protected, heard and respected at all times.
The MSCPCR honours top schools initiative therefore focuses on behaviour policies, anti-bullying measures and emotional support systems. Schools that excelled in these areas received special appreciation.

Officials shared that many of the top-ranked schools had invested in counselling services, child protection committees and awareness programmes. They also noted that teachers play a major role in creating trust-based relationships with students.

School leaders highlighted that consistent training sessions helped staff respond to children with sensitivity and care. They believe that emotional security improves academic performance and personal growth.

Promoting Inclusiveness and Equal Opportunities

Inclusiveness formed another major theme of the ranking programme. MSCPCR aims to ensure that schools welcome students from diverse backgrounds and provide equal access to resources.
The MSCPCR honours top schools ranking considers efforts to support children with disabilities, first-generation learners and those from vulnerable communities. Schools that offered inclusive teaching practices earned high scores.

Officials said that inclusive education must remain a priority in Mizoram. Every child deserves the chance to succeed, regardless of their circumstances. Many award-winning schools demonstrated strong awareness by designing support plans for students who need extra guidance.

Parents attending the event expressed appreciation for schools that offered equal opportunities. They noted that inclusive environments build confidence and encourage social harmony.

Strengthening Child Rights Awareness in Education

The Commission used the event to remind educators about the importance of child rights awareness. They stressed that awareness helps create a culture where children feel valued and respected.
The MSCPCR honours top schools initiative encourages institutions to integrate child rights topics into classroom discussions and school programmes. This practice helps students understand their rights and responsibilities.

Officials also emphasised the importance of reporting systems. Schools must offer safe channels for children to raise concerns. When students trust these systems, issues can be resolved quickly and fairly.

MSCPCR plans to organise workshops and training programmes to help more schools adopt child rights-based frameworks. They hope that the ranking system will inspire continuous improvement and stronger protection mechanisms.

Encouraging Future Growth Through Recognition

The awards ceremony marked an important milestone for education in Mizoram. It celebrated schools that showed dedication to child welfare and responsible leadership.
The MSCPCR honours top schools programme will continue to encourage more institutions to evaluate their practices and adopt student-friendly approaches.

Officials said that the Commission intends to expand the ranking process in the coming years. They believe that consistent monitoring and recognition will create a culture of excellence. Schools across Mizoram will have the opportunity to participate and benefit from the programme.

As the event concluded, educators expressed renewed commitment to uphold child rights. They believe that the initiative supports a brighter and safer future for every student in the state.
