Hornbill Festival 2025 Concludes with a Spectacular Display of Naga Culture

The International Hornbill Festival 2025 concluded at the Naga Heritage Village in Kisama, Nagaland, leaving visitors enthralled by the state’s tribal heritage. During the ten-day festival, Naga traditions were celebrated through music, dance, crafts, and indigenous sports, attracting tourists from across India and abroad.

A Vibrant Celebration of Tribal Traditions

The festival highlighted the cultural richness of Naga tribes. Visitors not only explored traditional morungs (tribal dormitories) but also attended colorful performances and participated in indigenous games. Handloom and handicraft markets displayed authentic tribal art and textiles, while food stalls offered local delicacies, allowing tourists to savor Nagaland’s flavors.

International Visitors Praise the Festival

Tourists from around the world appreciated the lively atmosphere. Gaya Ziv Edri from Israel described the festival as “very lovely” and praised the locals’ warm hospitality. Similarly, a Canadian visitor, attending for the second time, admired the cultural diversity across different tribes. First-time attendees, like Udhay from Tamil Nadu, called Nagaland “the safest place to be” and additionally lauded its people and traditions.

A Window into Northeast India

Domestic tourists called Hornbill 2025 a “window into the Northeast.” They enjoyed a mix of crafts, cuisine, adventure activities, and educational programs. Adventure events and interactive workshops offered hands-on experiences of Naga tribal skills. Moreover, the festival successfully combined cultural preservation with tourism promotion.

Closing Ceremony Highlights

The closing ceremony on December 10 was a grand affair. At the Unity Arena, 18 cultural troupes performed the Unity Dance, thereby symbolizing harmony among Naga tribes. This was followed by a formal closing function that reflected on the festival’s success in promoting Nagaland globally.

Visitors Applaud Organization and Experience

Attendees praised the festival’s organization, upgraded facilities, and growing international recognition. Many called it an enriching cultural experience. Consequently, Hornbill Festival 2025 reinforced Nagaland’s position as a hub for cultural tourism and encouraged visitors to explore its traditions, landscapes, and warm hospitality.

Hornbill Festival 2025 successfully showcased Nagaland’s tribal heritage. Overall, with its mix of performances, crafts, cuisine, and indigenous sports, the festival delighted audiences and set a high benchmark for future editions.
