The Nagaland Health Protection Society (NHPS) has asked Ayushman Card holders to link their Aadhaar with their cards by November 30, 2026. The move will help beneficiaries continue accessing healthcare benefits under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) at empanelled hospitals.
More than 1.14 lakh Ayushman Cards in Nagaland currently lack Aadhaar linkage, according to NHPS records. Beneficiaries can check their status and complete the process through the Beneficiary Identification System (BIS) portal. They can also seek assistance from designated government offices and empanelled hospitals.

Aadhaar Linkage Made Mandatory
The NHPS said Aadhaar linkage has become mandatory for beneficiaries who want to use their Ayushman Card at empanelled hospitals under AB PM-JAY.
During the initial implementation of the scheme, authorities allowed beneficiaries to generate Ayushman Cards without Aadhaar linkage. This applied to eligible beneficiaries identified through databases such as the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) and Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY).
However, the National Health Authority later introduced beneficiary mapping through its IT platform. As a result, beneficiaries now need to complete Aadhaar linkage with their Ayushman Cards.
Over 1.14 Lakh Cards Remain Unlinked
NHPS records show that more than 1.14 lakh beneficiary cards in Nagaland remain without Aadhaar linkage.
Therefore, the health agency has advised eligible card holders to check their Aadhaar linkage status. Beneficiaries should complete the process before the November 30 deadline.
According to a district-wise list reported by local media, the pending records total 114,567. Mon has the highest number of unlinked records, followed by Dimapur and Phek.
Where Can Beneficiaries Complete the Process?
Beneficiaries can use the Beneficiary Identification System (BIS) portal to complete Aadhaar linkage.
In addition, they can visit the office of their Chief Medical Officer (CMO), a Common Service Centre (CSC), a Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE) or an authorised card vendor agency.
They can also approach any empanelled PM-JAY hospital for assistance with the Aadhaar linkage process.

The NHPS has set November 30, 2026, as the deadline for completing Aadhaar linkage with Ayushman Cards.
Beneficiaries should verify their card status early to avoid last-minute difficulties.
What Happens If Aadhaar Is Not Linked?

In such cases, the beneficiary may need to complete fresh e-KYC through the BIS portal before restoring access, according to the reported NHPS memorandum.
