Investigation in the Rosmita Hojai Death Case Intensifies

Unlike earlier reports that hinted at an accident or possible suicide, police are now treating the case as open-ended. Investigators in Rishikesh confirmed they are examining all angles.

Importantly, a zero FIR filed in Haflong was forwarded to Shivpuri Police Station in Uttarakhand for jurisdictional action. This legal step ensures that police in both states can collaborate on the investigation.

Meanwhile, the Uttarakhand Police continue to analyze her phone records and are awaiting the final postmortem report. They have not ruled out foul play.

Public Reaction to the Rosmita Hojai Death Case

The case has deeply affected people in Assam. In Haflong, the Dimasa Students’ Union organized a candlelight rally, demanding justice for Rosmita. Hundreds of residents joined the march from Lal Field to the Deputy Commissioner’s office, urging accountability and a thorough probe.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma contacted Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami to request a fair and high-level investigation. He also offered legal and logistical support to Rosmita’s grieving family.
