Several top wrestlers in India, including Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik, and Bajrang Punia, are continuing their protest against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president, Brij Bhushan, who has been accused of sexual harassment. The wrestlers have alleged that the WFI chief is resorting to strong-arm tactics, including issuing threats and offering bribes, to break the “victims” who have filed complaints against him. The wrestlers have stated that they will not leave the protest site until Brij Bhushan is arrested.

Vinesh Phogat claimed that Brij Bhushan is using Haryana Wrestling Association secretary general Rakesh and coach Mahavir Prasad Bishnoi to threaten the families of the women wrestlers who have filed complaints against him. She further stated that the Delhi police has leaked the names of the complainants to the WFI chief. Vinesh also expressed her disappointment with the sports ministry for not providing justice but stated that she has faith in the judiciary.

The wrestlers are demanding that the Supreme Court takes up the case and ensures that justice is served. The wrestlers have stated that they will not end their protest until Brij Bhushan is put behind bars, and they feel safe to train without any fear of harassment.

Several politicians, including former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and “khap” leaders, have offered support to the protesting wrestlers. The Supreme Court has also taken notice of the allegations and sent notices to the Delhi government and others regarding the matter. The court has stated that the allegations are serious and need to be considered.

An oversight committee formed by the Sports Ministry is currently investigating the allegations of sexual misconduct, harassment, intimidation, financial irregularities, and administrative lapses against the WFI and its chief. Commonwealth Games gold medallist wrestler Babita Phogat has also joined the committee.

The wrestlers in India are continuing their protest against the WFI president, Brij Bhushan, and are demanding justice for the sexual harassment allegations. The wrestlers have the support of several politicians and organizations, and the matter is being investigated by the oversight committee and the Supreme Court.
