Pius Suter is a Swiss professional ice hockey forward currently playing for the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL). Suter is a versatile player who can play both center and wing. He is known for his speed, agility, and offensive skills.
Suter was born in Zurich, Switzerland, on May 24, 1996. He began playing hockey at a young age and quickly developed a reputation as a talented player. Suter played his junior hockey in Switzerland for the ZSC Lions. He was a standout player for the Lions and helped the team win the Swiss National League championship in 2014.
Suter was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the sixth round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. He played two seasons for the Blackhawks’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs, before making his NHL debut in the 2019-20 season. Suter had a successful rookie season with the Blackhawks, scoring 14 goals and 13 assists in 68 games.
