R. Ashoka, a Karnataka Minister and BJP candidate from the Kanakpura constituency has expressed confidence in winning the upcoming elections, saying that people are fed up with the Congress and want a BJP government in Kanakpura. He also mentioned the launch of the “Jay Vahini” campaign in all 24 constituencies, with the aim of winning 150 seats in the state. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai criticized former CM Siddaramaiah’s recent statement that a Lingayat CM has been involved in corruption, saying it was not right for a former CM to make such a statement.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to visit Karnataka on a two-day tour starting on Sunday. During his visit, Gandhi attended a series of events, including visits to temples, interactions with people, and public addresses. His schedule includes visiting the Kudala Sangama in Bagalkote, an important pilgrimage site of the Lingayat sect, where he will pay his respects at the Sangamanatha temple and the Aikya Linga, and participate in the Basava Jayanti celebrations.
Gandhi will also participate in a public contact program in Vijayapura, interact with sugarcane growers in Ramdurg, and take part in a youth interaction event in Gadag. He will hold a public meeting in Hangal in the Haveri district before returning to Hubballi and flying back to Delhi. This will be Gandhi’s second visit to Karnataka within a week, after attending the ‘Jai Bharat’ program in Kolar on April 16. The upcoming elections in Karnataka are being closely watched, with both the BJP and Congress working hard to secure a victory.
