In an address at the Mahant Digvijaynath Smriti Sabhagar on International Yoga Day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh emphasized the significance of yoga as a precious gift from India to benefit humanity. Adityanath highlighted how, during the global COVID-19 pandemic, India’s Ayush system of medicine garnered significant attention and demand worldwide.

Yoga, with its ancient roots in Indian tradition, offers not only physical stability but also strengthens the body, proclaimed Adityanath. As the world battled the challenges posed by the pandemic, yoga emerged as a powerful means to promote overall well-being and boost immunity.

Under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath, the state of Uttar Pradesh has taken substantial initiatives to promote yoga as a holistic practice. Recognizing the immense benefits of yoga for physical and mental health, the government has actively encouraged citizens to incorporate it into their daily lives. Various programs, workshops, and events have been organized throughout the state to promote awareness and understanding of yoga.

The chief minister emphasized the relevance of yoga in the present times, as individuals face increasing stress, sedentary lifestyles, and health issues. Yoga, he believes, provides a comprehensive solution by offering a range of asanas (postures) that promote physical well-being, mental clarity, and spiritual growth.

Yogi Adityanath also highlighted the role of yoga in enhancing the body’s natural defense mechanisms. As the world witnessed the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of maintaining a robust immune system became evident. Yoga, with its emphasis on deep breathing, relaxation techniques, and physical exercise, has proven to be a valuable tool in strengthening immunity.

Furthermore, Adityanath emphasized the universal appeal of yoga, transcending cultural and geographical boundaries. The popularity of yoga has soared globally, with millions of people embracing this ancient practice for its transformative effects. By promoting yoga, India has shared its rich cultural heritage with the world, enhancing global well-being and fostering a sense of unity among diverse communities.

The Uttar Pradesh government, under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath, has taken concrete steps to develop world-class yoga infrastructure within the state. Yoga and wellness centers have been established to facilitate the practice and learning of yoga, providing a conducive environment for individuals to explore its benefits.

International Yoga Day serves as an annual reminder of the importance of yoga in our lives. It encourages individuals to adopt a healthier lifestyle by incorporating yoga into their daily routines. Yogi Adityanath expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts in promoting yoga on a global platform, elevating its status and recognition worldwide.

Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, reiterated that yoga is a precious gift from India to humanity. Recognizing its profound impact on physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, the government of Uttar Pradesh has prioritized the promotion of yoga across the state. With its universal appeal and transformative effects, yoga continues to enrich lives, both in India and around the world.
