In a strong statement, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his silence on the recent violence in Manipur. Kharge demanded immediate action, urging the Prime Minister to dismiss Chief Minister N Biren Singh if he truly cared about the state.

Kharge accused the BJP-led government of attempting to mask its “abject failure” in effectively handling the situation in Manipur with propaganda. He emphasized that no amount of spin could hide the government’s inability to address the escalating violence in the northeastern state.

Reports suggested that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had finally briefed Prime Minister Modi on the situation in Manipur after a prolonged silence. Kharge highlighted the fact that for 55 days, Modi had not made any public statement regarding the state of affairs in Manipur. He further added that the entire nation was eagerly awaiting the Prime Minister’s response.

Expressing his concern for Manipur, Kharge called on Modi to take immediate action by dismissing Chief Minister N Biren Singh. By taking such a step, Kharge argued, the Prime Minister could demonstrate his genuine commitment to resolving the crisis in the state.

The violence in Manipur has been a cause for growing concern, and Kharge’s statement reflects the frustration and impatience felt by many. The Congress President’s demand for action and his challenge to the Prime Minister’s silence serve as a rallying cry for those who are seeking answers and effective measures to address the situation.

As the leader of the opposition, Kharge has utilized social media platforms like Twitter to voice his concerns and put pressure on the ruling government. His tweets calling for the dismissal of the Chief Minister resonate with many who believe that a change in leadership is necessary to restore peace and stability in Manipur.

The situation in Manipur has been marked by incidents of violence, unrest, and calls for greater accountability from the government. The Congress President’s statement underscores the urgent need for a proactive response from the central government and highlights the growing discontent among the populace.

It remains to be seen how Prime Minister Modi and his government will respond to Kharge’s demands. The public will be closely watching for any indications of action or a shift in approach. The ball is now in the court of the ruling party to address the concerns raised and take appropriate measures to restore peace and security in Manipur.
