The Nagaon Lok Sabha bypoll has moved into a crucial stage after Assam Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Goel met political parties to review preparations for the October election. The meeting comes as the Election Commission has scheduled the second-stage EVM and VVPAT randomisation for September 11, an important step before polling.
The bypoll will be held on October 6, with counting scheduled for October 9. The Election Commission announced the schedule on September 7, setting the process in motion for the vacant parliamentary seat.
Election officials meet political parties

Goel had earlier reviewed the constituency’s preparedness during a meeting at the Nagaon District Commissioner’s Office in August.
