A key aide of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar dismissed the demands for Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav’s resignation following the filing of a chargesheet by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader. The aide accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to replicate the political drama that unfolded in Maharashtra.

Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, a senior leader of the Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)] and a minister in Bihar, also mocked the BJP for its earlier demand for the resignation of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar, who has now been appointed as the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra.

Chaudhary emphasized that the mere filing of a chargesheet does not imply the establishment of guilt. He further highlighted that the CBI, the agency responsible for the chargesheet, often faces criticism for its functioning. He pointed out that Tejashwi Yadav himself had anticipated such action against him and had publicly acknowledged it.

The remarks made by Chaudhary were delivered during a press conference held at the JD(U) office. He defended Tejashwi Yadav against the demands for resignation and denounced the BJP’s alleged efforts to replicate the political turmoil that occurred in Maharashtra.

The political landscape in Bihar has been witnessing a flurry of activities since the chargesheet was filed against Tejashwi Yadav. The BJP, which is an ally of the JD(U) in Bihar, has been pressuring for his resignation, citing the chargesheet as a cause for his removal from the post of deputy chief minister.

However, the JD(U) has stood firm in its support of Tejashwi Yadav, implying that the chargesheet alone is insufficient to establish guilt. The party has accused the BJP of engaging in political maneuvers to destabilize the government in Bihar, drawing a parallel to the political drama that unfolded in Maharashtra.

The situation is expected to remain tense in the coming days as political parties continue to engage in a war of words over the chargesheet and the demand for Tejashwi Yadav’s resignation. The future of the Bihar government hangs in the balance, as alliances and loyalties are being tested amidst the ongoing political turmoil.
