Health Check and Monitoring

Veterinary staff examined the cubs soon after the rescue. They checked the animals for injuries and signs of illness. Fortunately, the cubs did not show serious injuries.

However, officials continue to monitor their health closely. Young cubs require proper nutrition and constant observation. As a result, forest staff provide food and basic medical care at a temporary shelter.

Plans for Safe Release

Authorities aim to return the cubs to their natural habitat. However, the team will release them only after they regain strength. Forest officials also search nearby areas for the mother bear.

If they locate the mother, the team may attempt a reunion. This step often improves the cubs’ chances of survival. Meanwhile, officials keep the animals under careful supervision.

Protecting Wildlife in Assam

The forests of West Karbi Anglong host rich biodiversity. They provide habitat for species like the Asiatic black bear. However, habitat disturbance sometimes separates young animals from their mothers.

Therefore, forest officials encourage villagers to report wildlife sightings quickly. Early information helps rescue teams respond faster.

A Successful Wildlife Rescue

This rescue highlights the dedication of the Assam Forest Department. Their quick action helped protect three vulnerable animals.

Officials will release the cubs once they grow stronger. Until then, the forest team will continue their care and monitoring.
