Manipur: Security Forces Continue Search Operations in Kangpokpi, PREPAK Cadre Arrested

Security forces continued intensive search and combing operations in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district as part of ongoing efforts to trace missing persons in the region. According to official sources, teams carried out operations in the hill ranges northwest of Leilon Vaiphei and Kharam Vaiphei villages. Meanwhile, Manipur Police also intensified action against traffic violations across the state and issued 82 challans between May 11 and May 17. In a separate security operation, forces arrested an active cadre of the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), identified as Laishram Jivan Singh, from Imphal East district on May 17.

Security Forces Intensify Search Operations

Security forces continued combing operations in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district amid ongoing efforts to locate missing persons. Officials said the teams searched several hill ranges situated northwest of Leilon Vaiphei and Kharam Vaiphei villages.

Moreover, authorities confirmed that the operation remains active and security personnel continue to monitor the region closely. The search teams have increased surveillance in sensitive locations to support the ongoing mission.


Police Continue Crackdown on Traffic Violations

Meanwhile, Manipur Police strengthened enforcement against motor vehicle violations across the state. Between May 11 and May 17, police officials issued 82 challans to traffic rule violators.

Additionally, authorities collected a total fine amount of Rs 1,12,500 during the enforcement drive. Officials stated that the campaign aims to improve road safety and encourage stricter compliance with traffic regulations.

Police urged motorists to follow traffic laws and maintain proper vehicle documents while travelling.


PREPAK Cadre Arrested in Imphal East

In another major development, security forces arrested an active cadre linked to the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) on May 17.

Officials identified the accused as Laishram Jivan Singh, aged 38, and a resident of Langmeidong. Security personnel detained him from Khabam Lamkhai Makha Leikai under Heingang Police Station in Imphal East district.

Furthermore, authorities said security agencies continue operations against insurgent activities in different parts of Manipur to maintain law and order.
