The District Administration of Mon in Nagaland has imposed strict restrictions on the transport of pigs and the sale of pork following reports of African Swine Fever (ASF) in parts of the state and nearby districts. Mon District Introduces ASF Control Measures

Medziphema Sub-Division Also Tightens Rules

The Medziphema Sub-Division has also introduced preventive measures against African Swine Fever. Additional Deputy Commissioner James Swu directed that traders and butchers cannot slaughter pigs for commercial sale without prior approval from the district administration.

Officials stated that the restrictions will remain in force until further notice. Furthermore, authorities urged residents and livestock owners to cooperate with veterinary officials during the monitoring process.

The district administration warned that strict legal action will follow any violation of the orders. Officials emphasized that controlling animal movement and commercial pork activities remains necessary to contain the disease outbreak.
