Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman began her two-day visit to Meghalaya by launching the Northeast’s largest organic spice processing plant at Bhoirymbong in Ri Bhoi district on Thursday. The Eastern Ri Bhoi Organic Farmer Producer Company established the facility with an annual processing capacity of 10,346 metric tonnes.
As a result, around 5,500 organic farmers will gain better access to processing and marketing opportunities.
