Song ‘Hridhayame’ for Wayanad Released Featuring 25 Renowned Singers.

Kozhikode: A soulful musical tribute to Indian Army Wayanad, the song “Hridayame”, was released on 14th August 2024 by eminent musician Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri and District Collectaor Snehil Kumar Singh at a special event in Kozhikode. The song, featuring 25 renowned singers, including acclaimed artists such as Hariharan, Usha Uthup, M.G. Sreekumar, and Unnikrishnan, was a collaborative effort to support a noble cause.

The song was released as a tribute to Indian Army on 14th August and it hit 1 million+ in September 2024.

Penned by the legendary lyricist Kaithapram and composed by the talented music director Rajesh Babu K. Shooranad, “Hridayame” resonates with deep emotion and love for the serene district of Wayanad. The song was coordinated by PK Sunil Kumar, a prominent playback singer and performer, and completed in a record time of just five days.

With voices of iconic singers like Naresh Iyer, Sithara Krishnakumar, Unni Menon, and young talents including Mridula Warrier and Nitya Mammen, the song beautifully captures the essence of Wayanad. Proceeds from the sale of the song will be directed towards the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund, adding a philanthropic touch to the creative initiative.

The project was initiated by renowned lyricist Kaithapram Damodaran Namboodiri music director Rajesh Babu K Sooranad and playback singer P K Sunil Kumar

Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri
Renowned as a lyricist, poet, and music director, Kaithapram is a cultural icon in Kerala. With a career spanning nearly four decades, he has penned lyrics for over 300 films and received numerous accolades, including the Padma Shri. His songs have an enduring appeal, deeply connected to the hearts of Malayalis, and his involvement in “Hridayame” exemplifies his continued dedication to blending art with social causes. A prolific figure in both cinema and classical music, Kaithapram continues to inspire with his creativity and benevolent contributions to society.

Rajesh Babu K Sooranad
Rajesh Babu K Sooranad is an acclaimed music director and screenwriter, known for his versatile compositions in Malayalam cinema. With a career rich in musical achievements, Rajesh has earned accolades for his emotive and captivating melodies. His recent projects, including “Perfume”, “ZHA”  and “Binary,” showcase his ability to fuse traditional and modern music. His soulful composition for “Hridayame” highlights his dedication to creating music that resonates with audiences across generations. PK Sunil Kumar
A celebrated playback singer with over 35 years of experience, PK Sunil Kumar has graced more than 3,000 stages worldwide, showcasing his distinctive, soulful voice. He has collaborated with legendary musicians and contributed to over 40 film soundtracks and 250 music albums. Known for his live performances and his successful band “Voice of Calicut,” Kumar’s leadership in coordinating “Hridayame” adds to his already impressive portfolio. His work has been recognized through prestigious awards like the Devarajan Music Award and Kerala Film Critics Award.
