Real estate consultant CBRE India has unveiled its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, CBRE Cares – ‘Ek Pehal,’ aimed at assisting migrant laborers and their families. The program, launched in partnership with child rights organization Bal Raksha Bharat (Save the Children), will provide quality healthcare services, education, and nutritional food to approximately 300,000 laborers. CBRE India has allocated an initial corpus of Rs 5 crore for the initiative, with plans to increase it to Rs 15 crore.

CBRE India’s CSR wing was established in October 2019 with an initial funding of Rs 5 crore, focusing on addressing health and nutrition challenges faced by construction laborers and their families on project sites. With the launch of CBRE Cares – ‘Ek Pehal,’ the company aims to further extend its support and make a positive impact on the lives of migrant laborers in cities such as Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Pune.

The primary focus of the initiative is to improve the well-being of laborers and their families by providing them access to essential services. The allocated funds will be utilized to deliver quality healthcare services, including medical check-ups, vaccinations, and necessary treatments. Additionally, CBRE India aims to enhance educational opportunities for the children of these laborers, facilitating their access to schooling and learning resources.

Another crucial aspect of CBRE Cares – ‘Ek Pehal’ is addressing nutritional needs. The program will ensure that laborers and their families have access to nutritious food, promoting their overall health and well-being. This initiative aims to alleviate the challenges faced by migrant laborers, who often encounter difficulties in securing adequate healthcare, education, and nutrition for their families.

By collaborating with Bal Raksha Bharat (Save the Children), CBRE India reinforces its commitment to promoting child rights and welfare. Bal Raksha Bharat is renowned for its efforts in improving the lives of vulnerable children and their communities across India. The partnership will leverage the expertise and resources of both organizations to effectively reach and support migrant laborers and their families.

CBRE India’s CSR initiatives align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education). By investing in the health, education, and nutrition of migrant laborers, CBRE India aims to contribute to the achievement of these global goals while making a tangible difference at the local level.

The expansion of CBRE’s CSR activities with the launch of CBRE Cares – ‘Ek Pehal’ highlights the company’s dedication to social responsibility and community development. By addressing the specific needs of migrant laborers and their families, CBRE India endeavors to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for these marginalized communities.
