Telangana IT and Industries Minister K.T. Rama Rao has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) to establish a Technology Centre of Excellence in Hyderabad, the state capital of Telangana. The move is aimed at creating employment opportunities and fostering innovation tie-ups.

During his visit to the UK, Minister Rao met with LSEG CIO Anthony McCarthy and signed the MoU. The proposed innovation centre is expected to generate employment for up to 1,000 people.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Minister Rao said, “We have just entered into an MoU with the London Stock Exchange for an innovation centre, with potential employment for 1,000 people.”

The establishment of the Technology Centre of Excellence is expected to create opportunities for collaboration and innovation between the state government, the LSEG, and other private sector players in the technology and financial sectors.

The move is in line with Telangana’s efforts to establish itself as a leading hub for technology and innovation. The state has been working to attract investment from leading global technology companies and has also launched several initiatives to promote innovation and entrepreneurship.

In recent years, Telangana has emerged as one of India’s fastest-growing states, with a thriving technology sector that includes major companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, and Google. The state government has been working to create a supportive environment for businesses, with a focus on innovation, infrastructure development, and regulatory reforms.

The partnership with LSEG is expected to further boost Telangana’s efforts to attract investment and foster innovation. The technology centre will provide a platform for collaboration and knowledge-sharing between the state government, the LSEG, and other stakeholders in the technology and financial sectors.

The establishment of the Technology Centre of Excellence in Hyderabad is a significant development for Telangana, as it seeks to position itself as a leading hub for technology and innovation. With the support of global partners like LSEG, the state is well-placed to drive further growth and create new opportunities for its people.
