Celebrity chef Jock Zonfrillo dies at 46

Celebrity chef and judge on “MasterChef Australia”, Jock Zonfrillo, has passed away at the age of 46. The Scottish restaurateur’s death was confirmed by his family in a statement shared on his official Instagram account. He reportedly died in Melbourne on Sunday.

Zonfrillo was a highly respected and influential figure in the culinary world. He was known for his focus on using Indigenous ingredients in his cooking, and for his work in promoting the knowledge and traditions of Indigenous cultures. He was the owner of the award-winning Orana restaurant in Adelaide, which was renowned for its innovative use of native ingredients.

Zonfrillo’s death has come as a shock to many, and tributes have been pouring in from around the world. The culinary community has been particularly hard hit, with many chefs and food writers expressing their sadness and admiration for Zonfrillo’s work.

Zonfrillo had a long and successful career in the culinary world, and had received numerous awards and accolades for his work. In 2018, he was named the Best Chef in Australia at the Gourmet Traveller Awards, and in 2019 he was awarded the prestigious Order of Australia for his services to the hospitality industry.

Zonfrillo’s death is a great loss to the culinary world, and to his fans and colleagues. He will be remembered as a pioneering chef, a passionate advocate for Indigenous culture, and a warm and generous human being.
