Neena Gupta, a veteran performer in the Indian film industry, has expressed her desire to play roles in an action film, a love story, and a South Indian language film. The 63-year-old actor, who experienced a career resurgence after the box office success of her 2018 film “Badhaai Ho,” is currently enjoying the best phase of her career and relishing the opportunity to take on more challenging and exciting roles.

Gupta revealed that she is currently working on eight different projects, each offering a different and unique role. Unlike in the past where she played supporting characters, she is now the main actor and feels proud to carry the weight of the film on her shoulders. She admits that it is an amazing feeling, and sometimes she wonders whether it is a dream or reality.

Neena Gupta is known for her versatility and has played a wide range of characters in her career spanning over three decades. Her memorable performances include the roles of a mother, grandmother, and wife in “Badhaai Ho,” “Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan,” and “Panga,” respectively. She has also received critical acclaim for her work in TV shows such as “Saans” and “Siski.”

The actor’s desire to work in a South Indian language film is noteworthy, as it reflects the growing popularity of regional cinema in India. South Indian films, particularly those in the Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam languages, have been gaining a wider audience in recent years and have produced some of the biggest blockbusters in Indian cinema.

Neena Gupta’s passion for her craft and willingness to take on new challenges is an inspiration to aspiring actors and established performers alike. She proves that age is just a number, and talent and hard work are the keys to success in any field.
