Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, has taken swift action by approving ex-gratia payments for the victims of a terrorist attack and a tragic bus accident in the state. In an unfortunate incident, Deepu Kumar, a 27-year-old circus worker, was brutally gunned down by Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in Anantnag district. The Lieutenant Governor has sanctioned a compensation amount of Rs 5 lakh for Kumar’s next of kin. Additionally, he has approved a similar amount for the families of those who lost their lives in a bus accident in Jammu, while the seriously injured will receive Rs 50,000 each.

The incident involving Deepu Kumar occurred on Monday evening when he had gone to the market to buy milk in Janglat Mandi area. Tragically, he became the target of the terrorist attack, leaving the entire community in shock and sorrow. Recognizing the immense loss suffered by his family, the Lieutenant Governor wasted no time in authorizing the ex-gratia payment of Rs 5 lakh to provide some financial relief to the bereaved family during this difficult time. This act of compassion and support from the government will hopefully help ease their pain and provide them with some stability.

In another unfortunate incident, a bus accident in Jammu claimed the lives of several individuals and left others severely injured. Understanding the gravity of the situation and the impact it has had on the affected families, the Lieutenant Governor approved an ex-gratia payment of Rs 5 lakh for the next of kin of the deceased. This monetary support aims to assist the families in coping with the sudden loss of their loved ones and help them address any immediate financial obligations that may arise.

Additionally, the Lieutenant Governor showed his concern for the seriously injured victims of the bus accident by approving a compensation amount of Rs 50,000 each. It is a commendable step towards assisting those who have suffered physical injuries and may require medical treatment and support. The funds can be utilized to cover medical expenses, provide necessary rehabilitation, or address any other urgent needs arising from their injuries.

The prompt response from the Lieutenant Governor demonstrates his commitment to the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. By swiftly approving these ex-gratia payments, he has shown empathy towards the victims and their families, acknowledging the immense pain and suffering they are going through. Such actions not only provide immediate financial support but also serve as a symbolic gesture of solidarity, assuring the affected individuals that the government stands with them in their time of grief.

The government’s efforts to provide ex-gratia payments reflect the commitment to safeguarding the interests and well-being of the citizens. These measures not only address the immediate financial challenges faced by the affected families but also aim to provide a sense of security and stability in the aftermath of tragic incidents. The Lieutenant Governor’s decision to offer financial assistance to the victims of both the terrorist attack and the bus accident showcases the government’s dedication to ensuring that no one is left behind in times of adversity.

It is hoped that these ex-gratia payments will bring some relief to the affected families, both emotionally and financially. Moreover, they serve as a reminder that the government is actively working to combat terrorism and improve safety measures to prevent future incidents. By extending support to those affected, the Lieutenant Governor’s actions embody the spirit of compassion, resilience, and solidarity that is essential in overcoming such challenging times.
