The efforts of the Textiles Ministry have resulted in a case being registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against six officials of the office of Textile Commissioner in Navi Mumbai. The case pertains to the fraudulent claim of subsidies and has prompted a detailed investigation by the CBI, which was approved by Textiles Minister Piyush Goyal.

The government’s “zero tolerance policy” against corruption has been cited as the reason behind the approval for the investigation. Reports suggest that the six officials and six suppliers based in Bhiwandi have claimed subsidies worth about Rs 6.5 crore in a fraudulent manner.

The case is a significant step towards eradicating corruption and promoting transparency in the textile industry. It is also indicative of the government’s commitment to ensuring that taxpayers’ money is utilized effectively and efficiently.

The Textiles Ministry has been proactive in taking measures to promote the growth of the textile industry and support the livelihoods of millions of people associated with it. The ministry has launched several schemes and initiatives aimed at improving the overall competitiveness of the sector, promoting innovation, and enhancing the quality of textile products.

The Textile India event, which was organized by the ministry in 2017, showcased the potential of the sector and brought together various stakeholders to discuss and deliberate on strategies for growth and development. The event received widespread acclaim and helped raise awareness about the opportunities available in the sector.

The ministry has also launched the Samarth scheme, which aims to provide skill development training to workers in the textiles sector. The scheme is designed to promote the production of high-quality textile products and improve the competitiveness of the sector.

The government’s efforts have borne fruit, with the textiles sector showing significant growth in recent years. The sector has been a major contributor to the country’s GDP and has generated employment opportunities for millions of people.

The case registered by the CBI against the officials and suppliers in the textile industry is a significant step towards promoting transparency and eradicating corruption. The Textiles Ministry’s initiatives have played a crucial role in creating a conducive environment for the growth and development of the sector. With sustained efforts, the sector is poised to continue its growth trajectory and contribute to the country’s economic development.
