Mizo National Front MNF organisational polls will be held after the 2028 Mizoram Assembly election, party president and former chief minister Zoramthanga has said, outlining a timeline for the next major internal exercise of the regional party.
The announcement comes as the MNF steps up preparations for the 2028 state polls and seeks to rebuild its organisation after losing power to the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) in the 2023 election. The party currently has 10 members in the 40-seat Mizoram Assembly.

Zoramthanga said the party’s next organisational elections would be conducted only after the 2028 Assembly election. The decision places the internal leadership exercise after the electoral contest, allowing the party to focus its organisational and political resources on the upcoming state polls.
