Authorities upgraded electromechanical systems and improved civil structures. They also strengthened the 33 kV grid connectivity, ensuring better transmission efficiency. These improvements have reduced power losses and enhanced voltage stability in the region.

Boost to Rural Power Supply

The revived hydel station will now supply electricity to more than 1,500 households across remote villages. Residents in Sessa, Tippi, and Bhalukpong are expected to benefit from a stable and continuous power supply.

Officials stated that the plant will generate around 6.1 million units of electricity annually. This output will significantly support local energy needs and reduce dependence on external power sources.

Government’s Focus on Energy Security

Speaking at the inauguration, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein emphasized the importance of strengthening hydropower infrastructure. He highlighted the government’s commitment to improving energy access in remote and border areas.

The initiative aligns with broader efforts to promote sustainable development and ensure reliable electricity supply across the state.
