According to preliminary reports, a projectile fired from nearby hill areas struck the house of Oinam Malemnganba, a Border Security Force (BSF) personnel who is currently posted outside the state. At the time of the attack, his family members were inside the house.

As a result, the explosion killed two children on the spot and left their mother critically injured. She is currently undergoing treatment, while authorities continue to assess the situation.

The incident has sharply escalated tensions across Manipur’s valley districts. Soon after the attack, anger spread among local residents. In response, some individuals allegedly set fire to two oil tankers and a truck passing through Bishnupur. Reports suggest that the vehicles were on their way to Churachandpur district.

Meanwhile, protests erupted in several parts of the area. A group of demonstrators gathered at Moirang Police Station and demanded immediate action from the authorities. The protestors urged the administration to ensure safety and bring those responsible to justice.

In response to the deteriorating situation, security forces increased their presence across the region. They placed sensitive areas on high alert and launched search operations in adjoining hill areas. Surveillance activities have also intensified to track down the attackers.

Additionally, authorities took precautionary measures to prevent further unrest. Several schools across valley districts remained closed on April 7 to ensure the safety of students and staff.
