Security forces recovered a cache of arms, ammunition and an explosive device during a search operation near Akham and Lamdeng villages in Imphal West, Manipur, on September 21. A combined team of the Imphal West CDO and 33 Assam Rifles conducted the operation under Lamsang Police Station.

Security Forces Conduct Search Operation

The Imphal West CDO and 33 Assam Rifles launched the search operation in areas adjoining Akham and Lamdeng villages.

During the search, the joint team located a cache containing several firearms and other materials. The recovery included nine 9mm pistols, one locally made Lathode gun and two bolt-action single-barrel guns.

Furthermore, security personnel found a No. 36 HE grenade and five TSMs at the location. The team secured all the recovered items and took them for further examination.
