According to security sources, Purna Bahadur Karke reportedly served as a Village Defence Force (VDF) personnel in Kangpokpi district at the time of his arrest.

Police Crack Down on Illegal Liquor Trade

Meanwhile, Manipur Police carried out a separate operation across different parts of Imphal city to curb the illegal sale of liquor.

As a result, police arrested four individuals allegedly involved in unauthorized liquor distribution. Officers identified them as Diamond Singh (30) of Thangmeiband Polem Leikai, M. Dingku Singh (26) of Moirang Sendra, Lalhaiba (33) of Bamon Leikai, and L. Romesh Singh (43) of Sugnu Napat Mayai Leikai.

Furthermore, police seized a large quantity of illegal liquor during the raids. Authorities have initiated further investigation into the cases.
