₹457 Crore Invested in School Development

The government has invested ₹457.41 crore in upgrading educational institutions under Mission Education. Moreover, the initiative goes beyond routine repairs and focuses on transforming aging school buildings into modern, student-friendly campuses.

Consequently, students and teachers benefit from improved facilities that support both academic and extracurricular activities. Furthermore, these upgrades help create a more engaging and comfortable learning environment.

Additional Support Through ADB Project

In addition to Mission Education, Meghalaya has undertaken infrastructure development in 182 schools under the Asian Development Bank-supported Supporting Human Capital Development in Meghalaya Project.

Furthermore, the project complements the state’s efforts to modernize schools in both urban and rural areas. As a result, more students can access quality educational facilities regardless of location.

Focus on Quality Education

Officials emphasized that Mission Education aims to build long-term educational capacity rather than simply renovate existing structures. Additionally, the programme prioritizes student welfare, safety, and access to quality learning spaces.

Moreover, the initiative supports the state’s vision of creating a strong educational foundation for future generations. Therefore, Meghalaya continues to focus on sustainable improvements in the education sector.

Government’s Vision for the Future

The Meghalaya Government believes that better infrastructure plays a crucial role in improving educational outcomes. Therefore, it continues to invest in facilities that encourage learning, innovation, and academic excellence.

Meanwhile, Mission Education remains a key component of the state’s development strategy. Ultimately, the programme aims to create modern educational institutions that can meet the evolving needs of students and educators.
