Detailed News Report

Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma inaugurated two digital governance platforms on Thursday during a programme held at the CM Conference Hall in Aizawl.

The newly launched systems include the Quarters Allotment Management System (QAMS) and the Mizoram House Online Reservation System. The General Administration Department developed both platforms to modernize government services and improve efficiency.

During his address, the Chief Minister explained that the earlier process for applying for government quarters required people to submit documents physically. As a result, applicants often faced delays and administrative difficulties.

However, the new QAMS portal now allows users to complete the entire application process online. Citizens can submit forms, upload documents, and track their applications through the internet without visiting government offices repeatedly.

Moreover, the Chief Minister stated that the online system would reduce paperwork and ease the workload of officials handling allotments.

The Mizoram House Online Reservation System will also help citizens book accommodations online at Mizoram Houses located outside the state. This service mainly benefits residents living outside Aizawl who previously faced difficulties during manual booking procedures.

According to official data, the portal has already received 2,796 applications since its trial launch on March 2. Out of these, authorities successfully allotted accommodations to 1,640 applicants.

The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of the General Administration Department, the ICT Department, and the Mizoram State e-Governance Society for developing the platforms.

Furthermore, he reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to using technology to make public services faster, simpler, and more accessible.

Officials said the ICT Department began developing the QAMS portal in August last year. The system is now fully operational and accessible online.

Meanwhile, the Mizoram State e-Governance Society developed the Mizoram House Online Reservation System to support digital booking services for citizens.

The programme was chaired by Sudhir Kumar, Principal Secretary of the General Administration Department. Deputy Commissioners and officials managing Mizoram Houses in different locations also joined the event virtually.

Additionally, Dr. YNL Reddy, Secretary of the ICT Department, delivered the vote of thanks during the programme.

The launch marks another step in Mizoram’s ongoing digital transformation efforts as the state government continues expanding online governance initiatives.
