The development marks a significant turn in a case that has drawn widespread public and media attention due to its shocking nature.

Allegations of Conspiracy During Honeymoon

Police allege that Sonam plotted the murder of her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, with her alleged partner Raj Kushwaha. According to investigators, the couple travelled to Shillong on May 21 and later moved to Sohra.

Soon after, both went missing on May 26, which triggered a large-scale search operation.

Authorities launched an extensive search involving Sohra police, Special Operations Teams, and disaster response units. Additionally, local villagers and mountaineering groups joined the efforts.

On June 2, teams discovered Raja’s body in a deep ravine near Wei Sadong Falls, confirming fears of foul play.

Investigators claim that Sonam and Kushwaha hired three individuals—Akash Singh Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, and Anand Kurmi—to carry out the हत्या.

Within a week of the discovery, police arrested all five accused. However, each of them has denied involvement in the crime.

Chargesheet Details and Ongoing Trial

On September 5, police submitted a 790-page chargesheet before the First Class Judicial Magistrate in Sohra. The document outlines the alleged conspiracy, sequence of events, and supporting evidence.
