Manipur Security Forces Recover Arms in Churachandpur, Destroy 5 Illegal Bunkers in Kangpokpi

Arms Recovery in Churachandpur

Security personnel launched a search operation in Maovom village and nearby areas under Churachandpur Police Station. During the operation, they recovered a significant cache of arms and explosives.

Specifically, the team seized one AK-47 rifle, three single-barrel firearms, a pistol with a magazine, one pompi, two 35 mm grenades, and an 81 mm mortar bomb. Subsequently, officials took all items into custody for legal action and further investigation.

This recovery highlights ongoing concerns about illegal weapons in sensitive regions.


Bunkers Destroyed in Kangpokpi

At the same time, security forces carried out another operation in Kangpokpi district under Saikul Police Station. They dismantled five illegal bunkers across multiple locations.

These included one bunker at Tingpibung village, three at Lungter Hill, and one at Leplen village. Moreover, officials confirmed that these structures posed a threat to peace and stability. Therefore, forces removed them to prevent misuse.
