Government Response

Following the flash floods, authorities took precautionary measures. The administration ordered the closure of all government and private educational institutions under the Guwahati Municipal Corporation area on Monday.

An official notification from the Government of Assam confirmed that officials made the decision due to the worsening flood situation caused by heavy rainfall on April 19, 2026.
