The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) national president, JP Nadda, has embarked on a three-day tour of Karnataka ahead of the state’s assembly elections. The tour began with a roadshow in Sidlaghatta, Chikkaballapura district, on Monday, April 24. According to ANI, Nadda will also visit the Sirsi temple in Uttara Kannada district and attend several public meetings.

On Friday, April 21, the BJP intensified its campaign for the Karnataka assembly elections, with Nadda holding a rally and roadshow in Bidar, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah meeting with Karnataka BJP leaders. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai was also present at Shah’s meeting with the state BJP leaders.

Unfortunately, Shah’s roadshow in Devanahalli was canceled due to inclement weather. Amidst the political battle in Karnataka, Prime Minister Modi spoke by phone with Karnataka BJP leader and former minister KS Eshwarappa.

Nadda, who will be in the state for two days, expressed his support for BJP candidates during his Bidar rally. He addressed a large crowd, stating that “The BJP has always worked with a sense of commitment to the betterment of society, whereas the Congress has a long history of interfering with social welfare schemes established by either the Centre or previous BJP governments.”

The Hubli-Dharwad Central constituency is expected to be an interesting battleground, with two prominent Lingayat leaders fighting for the seat. Mahesh Tenginkai, the BJP’s candidate, will replace former Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar, who was denied the ticket and has since joined Congress. Tenginkai sought Shettar’s blessings before filing his nomination for the seat on April 18.

As the BJP ramps up its campaign for the upcoming Karnataka assembly elections, all eyes are on Nadda and Shah’s efforts to secure a win for the party. The elections will take place on May 10, and it remains to be seen which party will emerge victorious.
