The Supreme Court of India has directed the Acting Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court to reassign the West Bengal school jobs scam case to another judge. This decision was made following Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay’s controversial interview with a television news channel where he spoke about the ongoing controversy.

The case involves allegations of corruption in the recruitment of primary school teachers in West Bengal. Several people, including government officials and politicians, have been implicated in the scandal, which has rocked the state.

Justice Gangopadhyay’s recent interview with a television news channel where he discussed the case has raised concerns about his impartiality and potential bias in the matter. The Supreme Court expressed its displeasure over the interview and directed the Acting Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court to reassign the case to another judge.

The decision to reassign the case comes at a crucial time, as the investigation into the scam is ongoing, and several important decisions regarding the matter are yet to be made. The Supreme Court’s directive ensures that the case will be handled by a judge who has not expressed any views on the matter publicly and is free from any potential biases.

The controversy surrounding the case has raised questions about the independence of the judiciary and the impartiality of judges. The Supreme Court’s decision to reassign the case is an important step in ensuring that justice is served and that the public has faith in the judicial system.

The case has garnered significant attention in West Bengal, with many people expressing outrage at the allegations of corruption and nepotism in the recruitment process. The reassignment of the case to another judge will hopefully provide some relief to those who have been impacted by the scandal and restore faith in the judiciary.

The Supreme Court’s directive sends a clear message that judges must maintain impartiality and avoid any appearance of bias in their handling of cases. This is essential to ensure that the judicial system remains fair and transparent, and that justice is served in a timely and efficient manner.
