Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, commonly known as Prachanda, has inducted three new ministers in the cabinet, taking the strength of the council of ministers to 22, including two ministers of state. The three new ministers belong to the Nepali Congress party and include Dhanraj Gurung as Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Mohan Bahadur Basnet as Minister for Health and Population, and Dig Bahadur Limbu as Minister for Youth and Sports.

The induction of new ministers from the Nepali Congress party is seen as an attempt by the Prime Minister to expand his coalition government and to maintain a balance of power among the various political parties. The Nepali Congress party is the largest party in Nepal’s parliament and had previously been part of the ruling coalition government before it was dissolved in December 2021.

Dhanraj Gurung, the newly appointed Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, is a senior leader of the Nepali Congress party and has been actively involved in Nepali politics for several decades. He has previously served as a member of the Constituent Assembly and has been actively involved in the drafting of Nepal’s new constitution.

Mohan Bahadur Basnet, the newly appointed Minister for Health and Population, is also a senior leader of the Nepali Congress party and has been actively involved in Nepali politics for several decades. He has previously served as a member of parliament and has been involved in the formulation of various health policies in Nepal.

Dig Bahadur Limbu, the newly appointed Minister for Youth and Sports, is a young leader of the Nepali Congress party and is known for his enthusiasm for sports. He has previously served as a member of parliament and has been actively involved in the promotion of sports and youth development in Nepal.

The new ministers are expected to bring fresh energy and ideas to the cabinet and to work towards the development and progress of Nepal. The Prime Minister has emphasized the need for unity and cooperation among the various political parties in Nepal to address the challenges facing the country, including the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the economic downturn.

Nepal has been grappling with a surge in COVID-19 cases in recent weeks, with the healthcare system under immense pressure. The new Minister for Health and Population will have a crucial role in managing the COVID-19 situation and in ensuring that the healthcare system is adequately prepared to deal with the pandemic.

The new Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs will have an important role in ensuring that the rule of law is maintained and that justice is delivered to all. The new Minister for Youth and Sports will have an important role in promoting sports and youth development in Nepal, which is essential for the country’s overall development and progress.

The induction of new ministers from the Nepali Congress party is expected to strengthen the coalition government and to ensure a more balanced representation of political parties in the cabinet. The Prime Minister has emphasized the need for all political parties to work together in the interest of the country and to ensure that Nepal emerges stronger from the current crisis.
