India is among the first countries to implement CSR Law in the world. It introduced the CSR Law in The Companies Act, 2013 under section 135 which was enacted in 2014.

Since then India has been in the forefront of Responsible business leadership but lacking the manpower to achieve the same. Till date CSR has been given as an added responsibility to the Human resource officer, Operations, Public relations personnel, Chartered Accountants, Company Secretaries who have skewed know-how of the subject.

The Ministry of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship took this matter into cognisance and approved the skills requirement for the job role of Head of CSR and Sustainability and Manager in CSR and Sustainability.

IICSR Group being the implementation partner for this initiative have since then trained people on the said job roles by conducting Masters in CSR and Sustainability and Post graduate program in CSR and Sustainability courses, lately introducing Masters in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) in affiliation with the American Council of Training and Development (ACTD)

The training is a combination of learning merging business, social welfare and environment thus preparing the students to address the future challenges in the business world.

Some of the leading industry practitioners have been involved in imparting the knowledge such as Dr Bhaskar Chatterjee, Former DG and CEO IICA, Mr Nixon Joseph, CEO CLT India, Col Prakash Tewari, Board of Directors Grameen Impact ventures (Indian arm of Grameen Foundation), Ms Sapna Narula, Dean of Management studies at Nalanda University and other pioneers.
