The dispute reportedly began after a Northeast student complained that her mobile phone was missing. A police complaint was also lodged, after which tensions increased between the two groups.

According to officials and reports, the situation then turned into a physical confrontation inside the hostel. Videos circulated online showed students holding sticks and throwing objects during the altercation. However, officials have stressed that the dispute was primarily linked to the missing phone and subsequent misunderstanding.

One student from Andhra Pradesh was reportedly injured during the clash. A report said the student suffered a head injury and received treatment at Government General Hospital in Kakinada. Some Northeast students also alleged that they were assaulted during the confrontation.

Officials step in after Kakinada nursing college clash

The Kakinada nursing college clash prompted intervention by senior district officials. District Collector Harendhira Prasad and Superintendent of Police G. Bindu Madhav visited the students and took steps to prevent further escalation.

The administration arranged separate accommodation for students from the Northeast as a precautionary measure. Reports said 31 students from Manipur and Nagaland were moved to separate accommodation to ensure their safety.

Meanwhile, officials also worked to maintain calm among the other students. The decision was presented as a temporary safety measure rather than a punitive action against either group.

Safety measures for Northeast students

The safety of students became a central concern after the Kakinada nursing college clash. District authorities said the Northeast students were accommodated at a nearby facility where they were safe and comfortable.

The intervention followed concerns raised by some students from Manipur. Reports said they approached Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh for assistance. The Manipur government subsequently raised the matter with the Andhra Pradesh government.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu also reviewed the situation and directed officials to resolve the dispute. His office said the District Collector and Superintendent of Police had ensured the students’ safety and taken steps to prevent further escalation.

The administration later said the matter had been resolved amicably after discussions with the students. Northeast students reportedly expressed satisfaction with the official response after being moved to separate accommodation.

The district authorities also planned further discussions with the students to maintain peace and harmony on the campus. Police and administrative officials are expected to continue monitoring the situation.

Kakinada nursing college clash settles after intervention

The Kakinada nursing college clash has since been brought under control, according to district authorities. The recovery of the missing phone helped address the immediate dispute, while separate accommodation was arranged to avoid another confrontation.

However, the incident has raised concerns about student safety and the need for quick communication when disputes arise in educational institutions. Authorities are focusing on preventing further tension between students from different regions.

Overall, officials have treated the episode as a dispute that escalated through misunderstanding rather than allowing it to develop further. The planned discussions are aimed at restoring a stable environment at the nursing college and ensuring students can continue their studies safely.
