Let’s tell you about 5 must-try Hyderabadi Dishes in 2023.

Top 5 Hyderabadi Dishes to try

There are countless tasty dishes in Hyderabadi cuisine. So, let’s tell you about the best 5 among them which are as follows:

Hyderabadi Biryani

It was sure that the list would begin with this popular classic. Hyderabadi Biryani has been a popular Dish worldwide for years now. It’s so popular that it is available in every major city in the world. But, the best taste is saved for the streets of Hyderabad where several cooks and restaurants have been making it for decades now.

It can either be cooked with chicken, mutton, or just vegetables.  This delicacy has Arabic, Turkish and Persian influences that have been passed down for centuries. Many vegetables and dry spices with boiled rice and food are added to it.

Mirchi ka Salan

Just like its name, mirch ka salan is a hot and spicy curry with a strong flavor. It is usually served as a siding with a biryani. Mirch ka salan is cooked with coconut, sesame, and peanuts. Also, green chilies are the main base ingredient of this dish. It has a strong local connection as the green chilies in this salan are the long green chilies locally found in the region.

Sheer Khurma

After having hot, spicy, and flavourful biryani with Mirch ka salan, you can end your meal with a sweet Sheer Khurma. It is a vermicelli pudding made during festivals. Also, it is a special delicacy for the festival of Eid. Moreover, dates and dry fruits are added to give it some crunch that makes it tastier.

Boti Kebab

This list is incomplete with the mention of kebabs. Boti Kebab is made by marinating mutton in fresh herbs, papaya paste, and green chilies with other spices. Later, it’s grilled or roasted to perfection. The Kebab is garnished with coriander or curry leaves. Also, it’s served with chutneys or a spicy salad.

Keema Samosa

Just the name Keema Samosa would have given you an idea about it. It is a light and tempting Snack of Hyderabad. The Samosa is filled with spicy and smoky meat filled with spices. The snack is a classic street food snack during Ramadan or other gatherings.

These are some classic mouth-relishing Hyderabadi dishes known for their rich and spicy flavours.
