The second list of candidates for the Karnataka Assembly elections seems to favor DK Shivakumar, with his supporters getting tickets, while turncoats are also accommodated. The Congress Central Election Committee is meeting again to finalize the names of the remaining candidates.

In its second list of candidates for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections, the Congress party has accommodated four turncoats, while YSV Datta, a close aide of Siddaramaiah, has been denied a ticket. The list includes Baburao Chinchansur from Gurmitkal, SR Srinivas from Gubbi, NY Gopalakrishna from Molkalmuru, and VS Patil from Yellapur, all of whom had defected to the Congress from other parties.

However, the denial of the ticket to YSV Datta, who was a ticket aspirant from the Kadur constituency, is seen as a setback for him. Instead, the ticket has been given to Anand KS, a supporter of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President, DK Shivakumar.

In another interesting move, former minister A Manju’s son, Dr. Mantar Gowda, who is also a supporter of Shivakumar, has been given a ticket from Madikeri. Meanwhile, Vinay Kulkarni, who was expected to contest against Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai from Shiggaon, has been given a ticket from the Dharwad constituency.

The Congress has also extended its support to Darshan Puttannaiah of the Sarvodaya Karnataka party from Melukote. However, the party has not yet released the names of candidates for the Pulakeshinagar, Kundgol, Harihar, Sidlaghatta, and Lingasugur Assembly constituencies.
