PM Modi Embarks Two-Day Tour Of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, And Telangana From Today

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to begin his two-day visit to Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Karnataka to launch and lay foundation stones for various development projects in the southern Indian states.

The inauguration of the first phase of a new integrated terminal building at Chennai airport, which covers an area of 2,20,972 sqm, on Saturday. The expansion was necessary due to the growing air traffic in Tamil Nadu. Additionally, Modi will flag off the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express during his time in Telangana, which is expected to reduce travel time between Hyderabad and Tirupati by almost three and a half hours.

The redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station, which cost Rs 720 crore, was designed with world-class amenities and an iconic station building. Modi will lay the foundation for AIIMS Bibinagar, which will cost Rs 1,350 crore, and five other National Highway projects worth Rs 7,580 crore in Telangana. He will also inaugurate 13 new Multi-Modal Transport Service (MMTS) services in the Hyderabad-Secunderabad twin city region to provide fast, convenient, and comfortable travel options.

After Telangana, Modi will travel to Chennai to inaugurate the new integrated terminal building of the Chennai airport, which was set up at a total cost of Rs 2,437 crore and covers an area of 2,20,972 sqm. According to Chennai airport officials, the new terminal will serve 35 million passengers annually and will be equipped with 108 immigration counters, equally split between arrival and departure areas.
