Meanwhile, Aizawl will host the Northeast Bankers’ Conclave at Mizoram University. The Department of Financial Services will organise the event in association with the concerned authorities.
The conclave will focus on improving access to institutional credit across the Northeast. It will also encourage investment in micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and support entrepreneurs.
Scindia said better access to finance could help businesses turn investment opportunities into actual economic activity. Therefore, the conclave will seek to strengthen connections between financial institutions, entrepreneurs and investors.
₹4.5 Lakh Crore Investment Commitments
Scindia highlighted the investment potential of the Northeast during his visit. He said investors made commitments worth nearly ₹4.5 lakh crore at the Northeast Investors’ Conclave in 2025.
According to the minister, Mizoram received a substantial share of those commitments. He said the upcoming bankers’ conclave could help convert these commitments into projects and economic activity.
The minister also stressed the importance of financial support for entrepreneurs. In particular, better institutional credit could help MSMEs expand operations, create jobs and contribute to regional economic growth.
Focus on Roads and Connectivity
Scindia also highlighted the importance of infrastructure in sustaining long-term development. He said better roads and improved connectivity remain essential for supporting businesses and connecting communities across the Northeast.
Moreover, he said the government had considered these requirements while planning the development projects in Mizoram.

Development Push for Mizoram and Northeast
The Union minister said stronger investment and infrastructure could increase the economic potential of all eight Northeastern states.
