Meghalaya Dominate Maharashtra
Meghalaya coach Playerson Jitem Syiemlieh retained the same starting XI that defeated Tamil Nadu 2-1 in their opening match.
The decision paid off as Meghalaya started strongly and took control of the game. Adriel B Nongbet opened the scoring in the 18th minute.
A clearance from Meghalaya’s half bounced into Maharashtra territory. Adriel chased the ball, escaped defender Krishna Acharya and hooked his effort into the net.

In the 47th minute, Habankhlur Lyngdoh Mawnai sent a cross from the left into the box. Maharashtra goalkeeper Garv Singh tried to clear the ball with a punch, but it fell perfectly for Adriel.
The Meghalaya forward made no mistake and headed the ball into the net to score his second goal of the match.
Habankhlur Completes the Win
Meghalaya added a third goal just five minutes later.
Aibannangkhraw Kharumnuid appeared ready to shoot from outside the box. Instead, he picked out an unmarked Habankhlur on the left.
Habankhlur controlled the ball calmly before guiding his shot past Garv Singh to make it 3-0.
Meghalaya then controlled the game and secured their second consecutive victory.
Mizoram Ahead on Goal Difference
The win moved Meghalaya to six points at the top end of Group C. However, Mizoram also have six points and currently lead the group on goal difference.
Mizoram strengthened their position with a huge 7-0 victory over Tamil Nadu. As a result, Mizoram have a +9 goal difference, while Meghalaya have +4.
Therefore, Meghalaya face a crucial final group match against Mizoram on Saturday at 8:15 AM.
Meghalaya Must Beat Mizoram
Only the Group C winner will advance to the semi-finals. Consequently, Meghalaya need a victory against Mizoram to secure their place in the knockout stage.
