Former Chief Minister of Karnataka and Congress leader, Siddaramaiah, has expressed confidence in his party’s future success after the recent state elections. The 75-year-old politician addressed a packed press conference in Mysore on Saturday, stating that the election result in Karnataka will be a stepping stone for Congress’ victory in the 2024 general elections.

Siddaramaiah has been a prominent figure in Karnataka politics for over two decades, having previously been a member of the Janata Pariwar party before joining the Congress in 2006. He is known for his anti-Congress stance, but has remained loyal to the party since his joining.

During the election campaign, Siddaramaiah had maintained a somber tone, but his demeanor was noticeably different at the press conference, exuding renewed energy and optimism. His declaration of the Congress’ future victory in 2024 was seen as a signal that he has set his sights on a leadership role within the party.

The results of the recent state elections in Karnataka were not favorable for the Congress party, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerging as the largest party in the state. However, Siddaramaiah remains undeterred and believes that the party can still make a comeback in the next general elections.

The veteran politician has a strong following in Karnataka, and his influence has been credited with the party’s success in the 2018 state elections. Despite being out of power for the past three years, Siddaramaiah continues to remain popular among the party workers and supporters.

Siddaramaiah’s statement comes at a time when the Congress party is facing internal divisions and leadership struggles. The party has suffered a string of defeats in recent elections, and there is growing discontent among its supporters. However, Siddaramaiah’s declaration of victory in 2024 has injected a sense of optimism among the party’s rank and file.

It remains to be seen how the Congress party will fare in the coming months and years, but Siddaramaiah’s unwavering confidence and leadership could prove to be a decisive factor in the party’s future success.
