The civic body has set October 10 as the deadline to finish road-related works across the city. Agartala expects a sharp rise in visitors, vehicles and pedestrian movement during the festive period.

AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder said the corporation would coordinate with departments to improve public movement and civic services. He also called for close cooperation among agencies handling infrastructure and public amenities.

Road works take priority before the festival

Road repairs form a major part of the Agartala Durga Puja preparations. The Chief Minister has directed concerned departments to make roads across the city motorable and finish road works by October 10.

The AMC has started coordinating with the Public Works Department (PWD), Smart City Mission and other agencies handling ongoing projects. Officials are working to complete these projects within the deadline.

Road conditions matter because several parts of Agartala see heavy traffic during Puja. Therefore, the civic body wants to finish major works before large crowds arrive.

The AMC has also reviewed other civic issues, including drainage, cleanliness and street lighting. These services will face additional pressure as residents and visitors move through the city during the celebrations.

Agartala Durga Puja plan focuses on traffic

Traffic management will play a major role in the Agartala Durga Puja arrangements. Thousands of people are expected to visit puja pandals and other busy locations across the capital.

The Traffic Superintendent of Police will take steps to control congestion and maintain smooth vehicle movement. The AMC will also deploy additional manpower during the festival to support traffic management and civic services.

Meanwhile, the civic body and police will coordinate their field operations at locations that attract large crowds. Officials will monitor traffic conditions and respond to congestion when required.

The administration also wants departments to coordinate roadwork schedules with traffic plans. This approach should help limit disruption while workers complete pending projects.

Power and civic services receive attention

Power supply remains another important part of the Agartala Durga Puja preparations. The Power Department will coordinate with puja clubs and committees to help maintain a reliable electricity supply during the festival.

The AMC is also coordinating with the Jal Board, Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, Forest Department and Fire and Emergency Services. Smart City Mission, TUDA and Tripura Police will also support the wider preparations.

These departments will handle different aspects of the festival arrangements. Moreover, their coordination will help the city respond to the increased demand for essential services.

The civic body also plans to strengthen its field presence during the festive period. Additional workers will help the AMC manage sanitation and other municipal requirements.

Agartala Durga Puja preparations target October 10

The AMC has already reviewed civic arrangements for the festival, including road repairs, drainage, cleanliness and street lighting. The corporation has also discussed additional manpower for different municipal wards.

The latest review places particular emphasis on finishing road-related works before October 10. The deadline gives departments a clear target ahead of the busiest days of Durga Puja.

Agartala will face greater pressure during the festival as people from across Tripura travel to the state capital. Roads, traffic systems, electricity and civic services will all experience higher demand.

Therefore, the AMC wants agencies to complete essential works before the celebrations intensify. Officials also want departments to maintain coordination throughout the festival.

Overall, the civic body has placed infrastructure, traffic and essential services at the centre of its Puja preparations. The October 10 deadline now gives the administration a firm target as Agartala prepares for the festive rush.
