As we enter 2024, the Ayurveda sector in India is eagerly anticipating the Union Budget with great hopes. This industry, which has seen a steady rise in recent times, is optimistic about the government’s announcement of measures that would propel its growth and advancement.

Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of medicine, has been gaining popularity worldwide for its holistic approach to health and wellness. In India, the industry has been growing at a rapid pace, with the market expected to reach $10 billion by 2024. The government has been taking steps to promote Ayurveda on the global stage, including organizing international conferences and exhibitions to showcase Ayurvedic products and treatments.

One of the key expectations from the Union Budget is increased funding for research and development in the Ayurveda industry. Research is crucial for the growth of the industry, as it helps to develop new products and treatments, improve existing ones, and ensure their safety and efficacy. Increased funding for research will also help to attract top talent to the industry, ensuring that it continues to grow and thrive.

The industry is also hopeful that the government will announce measures to promote the export of Ayurvedic products. India is already a major exporter of Ayurvedic products, but there is still a lot of growth potential. The government can help to promote exports by providing incentives to exporters, streamlining export procedures, and promoting Ayurvedic products in international markets.

Another expectation from the Union Budget is increased funding for the promotion of Ayurveda in India. While Ayurveda has been gaining popularity in recent years, there is still a lot of work to be done to promote awareness and understanding of the system of medicine. Increased funding for the promotion of Ayurveda will help to educate the public about its benefits and encourage more people to adopt Ayurvedic practices.

The industry is also hopeful that the government will announce measures to improve the quality and safety of Ayurvedic products. While the industry is regulated by the Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy), there is still a need for stricter regulations to ensure that Ayurvedic products are safe and effective. Increased funding for regulatory agencies will help to improve oversight of the industry and ensure that consumers are protected.

The Ayurveda sector in India is anxiously anticipating the Union Budget with great expectations. The industry is hopeful that the government will announce measures to boost its growth and development, including increased funding for research and development, promotion of exports, promotion of Ayurveda in India, and improvements in the quality and safety of Ayurvedic products. With the right measures in place, the Ayurveda industry in India has the potential to continue to grow and thrive in the years to come.
