CSK Breaks 13-Year Home Jinx Against MI with Easy Victory in IPL

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) finally broke their 13-year home jinx against Mumbai Indians (MI) with an easy six-wicket victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match held on Saturday. The match saw MI struggling to put up a decent total, scoring a below-par 139 for 8 against an inspired performance from the CSK pace and seam troika of Deepak Chahar, Matheesha Pathirana, and Tushar Deshpande.

The Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma, continued his poor run with the bat in the IPL, failing to score for the second match in a row. The MI captain’s horrid form since the last edition of the tournament has been a cause of concern for the team, and his failure to make an impact in this match only added to their worries.

On the other hand, the CSK bowlers put up a brilliant performance, led by Chahar, who picked up two crucial wickets for just 18 runs in his four overs. Pathirana, making his IPL debut, was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three wickets for just 15 runs in his four overs. Deshpande also contributed with two wickets for 25 runs in his four overs, ensuring that the MI batsmen never got going.

In reply, CSK’s chase was a cakewalk as Devon Conway played the role of an anchor to perfection, scoring 44 off 42 balls. Ruturaj Gaikwad also contributed with a quickfire 33 off just 25 balls, setting the tone for the rest of the innings. Despite losing a couple of wickets towards the end, CSK comfortably reached the target with 8 balls to spare.

The win was a much-needed boost for CSK, who had lost their previous match against Delhi Capitals. The victory took them to third place in the IPL points table, with four wins from six matches. MI, on the other hand, slipped to fifth place, with just two wins from their six matches.

Overall, it was a dominant performance from CSK, who outplayed MI in all departments of the game. Their bowlers were on point, their fielding was sharp, and their batsmen chased down the target with ease. For MI, it was another disappointing outing, with their star players failing to deliver once again.
